Success: What it Means to Me!
Posted on November 02 2011
Well here it is 11pm and I should be going to bed since we are fast and furious in SJ land getting ready for Holiday time and travels.....but, I can't sleep. And for some reason I've been thinking a lot lately about what SUCCESS means to me. To some, SUCCESS may be evaluated by a job or position, a salary, a material item, the size of their family, the number of friends they have, and so forth. But to me, SUCCESS is a combination of multiple aspects of life. I want to be the most SUCCESSFUL me that there can be!
SJ has been growing so fast and furious lately and I know with the team we have, it will only continue to do so. For SJ to continue on this path of SUCCESS, I have been trying to evaluate what aspects of my life that are most important to me to be SUCCESSful at! Those areas include:
1) I want to be a SUCCESSful business owner, entrepreneur, boss, and team leader.
2) I want to be a SUCCESSful Christian that expands God's kingdom.
3) I want to be a SUCCESSful family member and friend to those so special in my life; to make the most of my relationships.
4) I want to be a SUCCESSful role model to others who look up to me; always setting a good example.
5) I want to be a SUCCESSful life enthusiast; to view each day as a GIFT and to live to the fullest.
Here are a few quotes I found that I thought summed up all of the random thoughts in my head for tonight. These are some quotes that I like to live by and that are always good for me to read over!
SUCCESS is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. Robert Collier
SUCCESS means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be. George Sheehan
Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what? Get started now! With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more SUCCESSful. Mark Victor Hansen
To laugh often and much: to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children...to leave the world a better place...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeded. Ralph Waldo Emerson
The man who makes a SUCCESS of an important venture never wails for the crowd. He strikes out for himself. It takes nerve, it takes a great lot of grit; but the man that succeeds has both. Anyone can fail. The public admires the man who has enough confidence in himself to take a chance. These chances are the main things after all. The man who tries to succeed must expect to be criticized. Nothing important was ever done but the greater number consulted previously doubted the possibility. Success is the accomplishment of that which most people think can't be done. C. V. White
The purpose of life is a life of purpose. Robert Byrne
Some people dream of SUCCESS...while others wake up and work hard at it. Author Unknown
And the last quote is one that I came up with about a month before I opened the SJ Boutique. I keep it close by to read over every couple of days:
Be selfless and dedicated; give a compliment when needed. Learn something new every day; say your prayers and count your blessings. Be a role model, a leader, and an icon of SUCCESS and hard work. Think outside of the box, push every single boundary, and know that there are no limits to what you can do or who you can be. Myself
So as I'm laying in bed about to say my prayers and go to sleep, I'm thinking of ways I can improve and be more SUCCESSful in different aspects of my life. I'm not a settler; I always want to be better!
Feel free to share you thoughts with me in the comment box!

This was such an inspiring post! Always keep your dreams and goals in check and keep working hard for your success! And if you don’t mind I believe I will be putting your quote on my big crown chalkboard in my office as a reminder to why we work so hard everyday! :)
