1st Annual Southern Jewlz Fashion Show

Posted on April 02 2013

Hey Fans & Followers!  I am soooooo excited to announce that Southern Jewlz Boutique will soon be hosting its first annual Fashion Show! First off, I absolutely LOVE living in Aggieland!  As I tell people, "You see I'm from Bremond, TX but I moved here three days after I graduated high school and haven't left."  I was a 1st generation Aggie, class of 2009, and I'm so very fortunate to have built a business right here in the community which I love.  As Southern Jewlz's success continues to grow, I realize how important it is to give back.  There is so much that we all need to do to ensure our community has all the available resources for those less fortunate. So as I began to brainstorm this event, I knew I would need help to manage it and basically "make it happen" - that's where my Chair and Co-Chair come in!  Tina Gandy and Lina Lawson are not only the founders of TWINZ Co. Marketing here in the BCS, but as the name preludes, they are twins!  Yes, they are every bit of energetic, organized, connected, motivated, big-hearted and THERE ARE TWO OF THEM!  Perfect???  Absolutely! Whenever the Twinz and I first met, they loved the idea of a fashion show.  I knew I wanted the show to support a great cause and as I began to ask questions, I realized my heart weighed heavily on investing into our youth.  When I was introduced to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley and heard the many challenges they faced in 2012 of continued trials and increase of operation costs, I wanted to step in and see what I could do to bring more awareness to what they needed.  What better way than to tie my passion for fashion and excitement into something that truly touches my heart and helps the community!? I am PROUD to host the first annual Southern Jewlz "if the Crown Fits, Wear It!" Fashion Show, Thursday May 2, 2013 at Daisy Dukes in Northgate from 6pm to 9pm.  Spring and Summer fashions will be showcased by many of the vendors we carry in our store.  There will be door prizes, t-shirts and opportunities to win a $500 shopping spree.  Proceeds will go back to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley and Charity: Water - a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations.  Read more about each of these organization online: BCS Boys and Girls Club and  Charity: Water. And in memory of Chandler Small, the employee we lost this past December, we will gladly be accepting donations for her scholarship fund.  Through the T-shirts we designed in memory of her and have sold in store and online, we have already raised over 3K! Be sure to order here. And of course, there will be some "Chandler-inspired" fashions on the run way! If you are interested in being a sponsor, you still have until April 15 to get signed up.  Serious inquiries please email for more information. Please purchase tickets for this great event and plan to be there!  Tickets are available online (click here) and also at the door.  They are $10 each.  Raffle tickets for the $500 SJ Shopping Spree are now available in the boutique and will be sold now thru the time the raffle is made. Social media addicts - be sure you are following all of the Southern Jewlz social media outlets: FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.  We will be giving away tickets at random and posting fun photos to keep y'all updated on our progress.  And our official hashtag for the event that you should tag your photos/posts is #ifthecrownfits. Look for upcoming blogs from me to introduce our sponsors, models, and to keep each of you updated on our fun journey in planning and putting together this fabYOUlous event!  If you're in the BCS area, look for 6 billboards that are going up TODAY promoting the event.  Special thanks to Lamar Advertising for donating these spaces!  Also, If you're going to be at Chilifest this weekend in Snook, TX, be sure to look for us on the jumbo tron! As an Aggie, resident of Bryan/College Station, and a business owner who believes in giving back, I am excited to have the opportunity to help the local youth and to focus on life's most basic need --- water! Until I see y'all at the show - Be GREAT. Be REAL. Be INSPIRING. Be a ROLE MODEL. Be BRAVE. Be FIERCE. Be SPONTANEOUS. Be NICE. Be KIND. Be HAPPY. But most importantly, Be THE MOST FABULOUS YOU THAT YOU CAN BE. Be GREAT. Boys & Girls Club. xoxoxo, Randa :)
